Sharing Your Online Giving Page

Sharing Your Online Giving Page

When you enable online giving with Breeze, we'll provide you a web address that you can link to from your home page, share with others via email or social media, and even embed right on your website so your users have a completely seamless experience. To share your online giving page:

  1. Navigate to "More" > "Contributions" > "Online Giving."
  2. Click the "Share" button in the "Web Giving Box" in the center-left of the page.
  3. Use one of the three available options:
    1. Giving Page Address - A link you can email with others or post on social media. Donors can click the link to give to your church.
    2. Link from Website - Code that your web developer can use to create a "Give" button directly on your church website.
    3. Embed in Website - Embed the giving form directly on your website for a seamless donation experience so the donor never has to leave your site. Note that we highly recommend installing an SSL certificate (https) on your site prior to using this option. You can use the simple version of the embed code, or, if you're looking for more custom options, see the advanced version. Information on that is below. Note: Log in option and page content are not available on the embed page.

Any additional code added, such as iframe, might cause the embedded giving page to change to the mobile view. This may cause the page to lose some intuitive design when viewing it from a desktop web browser. Functionality does remain the same.

Have a WordPress website? You might consider using the third party WordPress Breeze Plugin.

Advanced vs Simple Options for Choosing to Embed by Website

The "Simple" code will read something like this:

<div id="breeze_giving_embed" data-subdomain="SUBDOMAIN"></div>
><script src=""></script>

The "Advanced" code will be customizable and start with a look like this:

<div id="breeze_giving_embed" data-subdomain="SUBDOMAIN" data-width="100%" data-background_color="fffff" data-text_color="000" data-donate_button_background_color="777777" data-donate_button_text_color="ffffff" data-fund_id="" data-frequency="" data-amount=""></div>
><script src=""></script>

When using the advanced code, here is what each section represents:

Code Description
data-subdomain Your Breeze account's subdomain
data-width The width of the giving section
data-background_color The giving screen's background color
data-text_color The giving screen's text color
data-donate_button_background_color The donate button's background color
data-donate_button_text_color The donate button's text color
data-fund_id The fund ID can be viewed by navigating to "Contributions > Funds", clicking on the desired fund, and looking at the ID in the URL. When this option is used, the selected fund becomes the only fund that can be given to from that giving page.
data-frequency W = weekly
2W = every 2 weeks
M = monthly
Y = yearly
data-amount Any number

  • You mentioned the WordPress plugin.  When I clicked on the link, the WordPress site reported the following:

    This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

    Are you maintaining this plugin?

  • @alan

    Hey Alan! We spoke earlier on the phone. We will certainly be looking to give you more information regarding this very soon. Thank you so much for your Feedback here!

  • Thank you Stephen,

    I received the following email from Michael Gyura at

    Yes, we're still working with Breeze. We are getting a new one ready to release that will include their new API. It should be out in a month or so.

  • Hiya,

    Are the instructions above still valid? As when I navigate to "More > Contributions > Online Giving", there is no share button anywhere on the page, yellow or otherwise. Below is a screenshot of what I see in the "Online Giving" section. Clicking on "Get started" under the "Enabled" button only shows a link to the giving page, no embed options or link to add a giving button to a website.

    Also using the above code snippets and editing them with our churches sub-domain info etc, just brings up a message stating online giving has been disabled, despite our online giving being enabled. Any ideas?

    Thanks for sharing the info about the WordPress plugin! I had looked into using it on our site, but since it hadn't been updated in over 2 years I figured the third party who made it had stopped supporting it. Glad to know that they will be releasing a new one at some point in the coming months.

  • @selina Click the blue "enabled" button to enable online giving. Once it's enabled, you'll be able to customize your giving page and share it as well! Check out this article on how to share:

  • @Chaeli

    Thank you for the response. Our giving page is actually enabled, but it doesn't show the sharing options 2 and 3 mentioned in the link/above, it only has a link to the giving page when you click on the "Get Started" link under the enabled button.

    Which is why I wondered if the article was out of date, as it no longer seems to give embedding codes. I know just enough html to use a simple iframe tag (e.g. <iframe src="" scrolling="auto" height="1080" width="100%" ></iframe> ) to embed the page into our website, so while not a problem it would have been nice to have been able to customise the colours.

  • Hey @selina!

    Our support team is reaching out to you via an email about this. Happy to point you in the right direction!

    Warm Regards,

  • Under the 'Advanced' options for embedding this giving platform into a website, there appears to be no way to alter what the "Donate Button" text actually says.  I would like the "Donate Button" to actually say 'Give Now'.  Is there any way that this functionality can be built into the automatic embed generator.  I believe it would only amount to a few lines of code unless I'm missing something entirely.

    Thanks for your time!

  • @philip

    Thanks so much for that idea of offering an alternative wording to the Donate button!

    As this is a current limitation of Breeze, this would make a great feature request for our team to hear! For more information on our Feature Request form, check out our feature request article here: Submitting Feature Requests.
