Breeze App

If you are looking for a Breezy way to access your Breeze database on the go, check out our Breeze app. Stay tuned for more updates/features/enhancements coming to this app soon!

With the app, you will see similar functionality to the web based version. Only now, at the ease of your fingertips.

The Breeze app is available to assist you with important ministry tasks even when you are out of the office. Because you can utilize this app remotely, it then allows for you to quickly look up members and visitors within your database to access their contact information or to look up a birthdate.

You can use our same communication tools and email and text those in your database straight from the app.

Another great benefit in using the app, is it allows you to check in those attending your events and services. You can simply open the app, navigate to your event, and begin checking in from your mobile device without having to worry about having a computer at your check in station.

The app allows members to easily give online, access their giving history and Manage Recurring Giving.

While there are several ways in which churches can use the app, having access to your church database via the app provides you the opportunity to increase your reach to those within your church.

Breeze offers an app for iOS and Android! Here's where you can access either of these apps:

Login Information

The first time you use the Breeze app you'll be prompted to enter your subdomain.

Your subdomain is part of the URL that you use to log in. For instance, if you log in at, your subdomain is cornerstone. If you don't know your subdomain, please contact your church. After entering your correct subdomain, you'll be prompted to enter your login information.

In order for someone to see the Dashboard, they would need to have an additional permission selected besides the "My Profile" option (e.g. Events or People). Otherwise your users will be automatically directed to their Profile instead of a dashboard.

Note: Some Android users might get a message that says "This app was built for an older version of Android and may not work properly. Try checking for updates, or contact the developer." If you get this message, you can just click ok and move forward. Additionally, you may simply be able to resolve other issues with Android by clearing the app cache. You can read more information on how to clear the app cache here:

App Limitations

  • Does not have the ability to access User Settings (which also means the inability to access Bulk Tasks, Users & Roles, Automations, Profile Fields, & Manage Account)
  • Does not have the ability to edit Forms
  • Does not have the ability to Download/Export Files
  • Does not have the ability to restore archived people
  • Does not show the Month name in Events > Month-View
  • Does not display pop-ups in volunteer management, specifically reminders
  • Does not have the ability to cancel scheduled texts or scheduled emails
  • Does not have the ability to view Profile Pictures in the "People" view (use the browser on your phone, set to "Desktop site" to do this instead)
  • Cannot print contribution statements (use the browser to do this instead)

When it comes to profile pictures, you can only see them in a browser on your phone if you have an Android. iPhones won't display pictures even if Desktop site is turned on.

If you have trouble logging in through your subdomain and reach some error messages, try and re-download the app.

If you run into an App limitation you may want to try using a web browser on your mobile device to access Breeze:

  1. On your Phone, go to a Web Browser (Safari, Google Chrome), and enter your full breeze url (example:
  2. Log in with your Breeze Credentials
  3. You will now be able to access the Breeze platform on your phone, without the app.

  • I am having trouble figuring out how to send a text message from my phone app. It will call the number but does not provide an option to send a text as it does using my desk top computer. I know that we are eligible to send up to 250 text messages free therefore I have not yet enabled this feature so that should not be the problem. I am in the process of explaining all these features to our pastor in order to hopefully start utilizing and would enable this feature at that time with his blessings. Please advise.

  • Hi Debra! Happy to help!

Look for an email from Support! One is coming your way with the instructions for this! :)

  • Any possibility of sharing the secret? This is a functionality that is an absolute must-have for our church before we settle on a CHMS.

  • Hi info!

The communication tools within Breeze are only text and email. There is not a phone call option at this time. The text responses do not return to the phone or the computer since our texting tool is a one way communication tool.

If the 250 texts are enabled, then yes, that will come out automatically and be paid and billed to your invoice. You will see on your invoice the details of how many texts were sent out.

Breeze provides you with 250 free text messages every month. After you've used your 250 free text messages, each additional text message is one penny ($0.01/text message) each. On a technical level, text messages are sent out as having one recipient. If you send a text to a list of 30 people, 30 messages will be sent, each message having one recipient.

  • Thanks, Emily. I should have stated my question more clearly. When I look at a person's profile in the app, it lists their phone number, email address, etc. When I tap on the phone number it brings up my phone dialer, even if the number is listed as "mobile." However, I would like to be able to send a *text* by tapping on it. I have tried tap-and-hold but there's no contextual menu; there appears to be no way to do anything except initiate a phone call. I have no interest in initiating phone calls within Breeze; what I'm hoping to do is initiate a text *outside* of Breeze using my regular SMS app so that I can carry on a conversation with that person. We'd like to use Breeze as a church-wide app so members can view and use the directory, but without this basic functionality it's a non-starter. So, I'm wondering if there's a way to tap on a phone number and have it open my default SMS app. I know this functionality exists in several other apps that I use. Thank you for your time.

  • Hi there!

Thank you for the additional details. You can only text within the Breeze app, it will not open to your SMS app:) Once you have your list of people, you can scroll to the bottom, to either email or text those you wish to contact.

  • Hey @pks4him!

The communication tools within Breeze are only text and email. There is not a phone call option at this time. The text responses do not return to the phone or the computer since our texting tool is a one way communication tool.

To text from the app you can simply navigate to People, scroll down to the bottom to see the texting tool icon. Simply click on the tool to compose your message.

From the People tab you can also use the filter icon to the right of the type person's name to narrow down your search and then scroll to the bottom again to see the texting tool.

You can do this within Tags as well. Navigate to Tags, select your tag, scroll to the bottom of the tag and you will see the texting tool.

    Hope this is helpful!

  • FYI, using my iPhone, when I press and hold a mobile number, a box appears with several option. One option is to send a message (text). I touch that and it opens my iPhone iMessage and I can text them outside Breeze. Works great.

  • Thanks!  This reply was super helpful also!

  • Is the Breeze App primarily for admin/office use or can it be used by a member of your church? For example - can a member of the church log into the app & manage their info. Eg. Register for events, update details, etc.?

  • Hey @ricky!

Great question! The app can be used by both admin/office use as well as members.

    Hope this is helpful!

  • I have logged into the Breeze mobile app as a trial user (using the demo info), but obviously with a high permission level. I'd like to experience the mobile app as a public user (ie. what would a church member experience)? Is this possible? I can't add another user on the demo DB with a lower permission level.

  • Hey @ricky!

Great question! There are 2 limitations of the Demo account and one is the ability to create user accounts.

The other is the ability to use automated tasks. Automated tasks are not currently available in demos. This is because of how different types of Breeze accounts are categorized, and how automated tasks are queued accordingly.

Need to be able to create user accounts or use automated tasks? Consider joining Breeze

However, here are some additional resources that will give you a better look at a member account:

    Rollout Breeze to Members

    Giving Members Access Video

    Member Tutorial Video

Allowing Members to Have an Account in Breeze

    Hope this information is helpful!

    Happy Breezing!

  • Ricky, that was one of my concerns when testing at first, too. Especially since we were coming from another CHMS where the member experience was not very good. I can tell you that we've been pleased with the member-facing experience of Breeze since we launched a couple of months ago. The big difference is that there simply isn't as much stuff on the member home screen. The functionality and placement of everything is the same as for admins, just you can't see certain features if you don't have those permissions. The permissions that you can set when creating a role are so granular that it's pretty easy to allow people to see exactly what you want them to see.

I don't know if that really answers your question, but I can vouch for it working well even though it's a little worrisome that you can't experience it as a church member before purchase. One thing we did was reach out to another church in our area who was using Breeze and just having a look at it there. You might see if Breeze could identify some churches near you that are using it and maybe you could demo with them.

  • Is there a way to change the link that is used by Giving? We use a third party service and would prefer to only use that service. We would like to retain the option for attenders to give via that app (which just opens a link), but will have to disable that (and online giving as a whole) if unable to change link that Giving opens.

  • I am on the Breeze app and trying to load a photo via My Profile. It doesn't give me the option to select a photo from my device? Is this a limitation? I tried to look through the Role settings to 'give access' to load photo, but unable to find that option. I logged in with an account that has the Member permission level that comes with new Breeze database.

  • Hi Ricky!
Great question! There are certainly some limitations on using the Breeze app. Part of these limitations are related to screen size, age of the phone (OS), and Android vs. iOS. I have an Android Pixel. When I turn my phone horizontally and touch the photo icon, I'm given the option to upload a photo from my device. But sometimes I have to tap and drag (scroll down) to see those options. If you're still stuck, try loading Breeze straight from the browser on your mobile device! I personally find the browser easier to use with fewer limitations. Otherwise, feel free to call or email Support and we would love to continue troubleshooting with you! - 888.320.6030

  • @nathangeist

Thanks for taking a moment to reach out to The Breeze Community!

The link connected to the Online Giving Button in the Breeze App cannot be edited. If you would prefer to continue using your third party platform for Giving, then you will need to remove the My Profile > "Online Giving Button" Permissions in all of your Roles. (For more info, see Editing a Role

This would simply remove the Giving button as an option so that there's no confusion! And consequently, they would just use the other app or your website to continue Giving.

Prayerfully, this information was helpful to you!

  • Is there a way to set up the Event Calendar so that when you are in the Mobile app it shows which month you are viewing on the month view? Pastor mentioned this today that when he is scrolling through on his iPad that it does not show the month in month view.

  • @lewislake1030

Thanks for the feedback here! We will be taking this back to our development team for a further look.

If there's anything else that we can do to serve you, please let us know!

  • Is there any way to add shortcuts in the phone app? Basically to add another icon for say a small group you lead--for a quick look at the roster without having to go through all the tags?

  • @lwilliams

Great question! Unfortunately, that functionality is not currently available within breeze. However, we would certainly appreciate the feedback as a Feature Request. You can submit it here: Submitting Feature Requests

  • Is it possible to have a husband and wife use the same email address and each have the Breeze app individually on their respective phones?  Or do they have to have different email addresses to each use the app on their phones.

  • Is there a way to enable touch ID (fingerprint ID) on the iPhone app?

  • @pastor

This is a current limitation of Breeze, but this would be a great feature request for our team to hear! For more information on our Feature Request form, check out our feature request article here: Submitting Feature Requests.

  • Is there a way to show only members, attenders, etc of the church to congregations members using the app?  So they don't have to scroll through the whole database or select a filter each time they want to see the congregation.

  • Hi @office,

Yes! There is a way for them to see only members and attenders (rather than having to do it each time themselves). The best way to accomplish this is to assign all of these people to a tag and then update their role to only view this tag. Under the Permissions, it will look like this:

We've got a great article that walks you through these steps specifically. Check it out here: Online Directory with Member Access.

    I hope that helps!

  • App Issue: Would it be possible to add an icon on the first Event "pop-up" that let's you do volunteer management? I see "check in" and "view details" - would it not be easy to add "Volunteer Mgmt" as button? Right now you have to "Edit Event" first and THEN click on the little icon in the top right corner. This increases the risk of leaders messing up event settings they did not intend to (if they are clumsy).

  • Hi @mcfrantzen,

I can definitely see how having the Volunteer Management button a little bit sooner would be more convenient and safer. I apologize for the hassle!

If you'd like to leave a feature request for this idea, you can do that here:  Submitting Feature Requests. This is the best way for our Product Team to see the needs of our churches and how we can better serve them in the future!
