Minimum System Requirements for Breeze

We sometimes get the question: "What do I need to run Breeze?" The simple answer is, "An internet connection and a modern web browser." However, those who are more technically inclined or just curious might want more additional or specific details. To experience Breeze at its best, it’s important to ensure that your devices and internet setup meet our minimum system requirements. This not only guarantees a smoother operation but also enhances security and access to the latest features.

Minimum Internet Requirements

In our connected world, a reliable internet connection is the backbone of smooth and efficient online experiences, especially when using cloud-based platforms like Breeze. Here are the internet specifications we recommend to keep your Breeze interactions fast and frustration-free:

  • Recommended Download Speed: A minimum of 15 Mbps download speed ensures that Breeze’s features load quickly, even when you’re using resource-intensive tools like reports or media uploads.
  • Recommended Upload Speed: We suggest a minimum of 5 Mbps upload speed for efficient data sending to the cloud, which is crucial for uploading files and real-time data syncing.

Why Speed Matters:

These recommended speeds help maintain Breeze’s performance standards, allowing for quick responses and uninterrupted service. Speeds lower than the recommended thresholds might result in slower response times and a less-than-ideal experience, particularly during data-heavy activities like batch processing or generating extensive reports.

Testing Your Speed:

You can evaluate your current internet speeds by visiting This quick test will give you an insight into whether your current setup aligns with our recommendations.

What If Your Speeds Are Lower?
If your test results show slower speeds than recommended:

  • Contact your internet service provider to discuss potential upgrades or service improvements.
  • Check your local network for any issues that might be affecting performance, such as outdated routers or interference.

Remember, an efficient connection ensures that Breeze works for you as smoothly and reliably as possible, enhancing your overall experience. You can use Breeze at lower speeds; however, you will likely experience frustration in speed and perceived responsiveness, especially when printing name tags. Note that there are other factors in play that can impact Breeze performance (network congestion, older/slower computer processors, etc.

Optimal Browsing: Selecting the Right Internet Browser for Breeze

To ensure Breeze functions smoothly and securely, using an up-to-date and compatible internet browser is key. Breeze is designed to work best with the following browsers, which support the latest web technologies and security standards:

  • Google Chrome: For its speed and strong integration with web standards, Chrome is our preferred choice. Ensure you're using the latest version for the best experience with Breeze.
  • Safari (macOS): Safari is a great option if you're using a Mac. It's optimized for macOS and provides efficient performance. Keep it updated to the latest version available for your system.
  • Microsoft Edge: The newest version of Edge, which is based on Chromium, offers a robust browsing experience that’s both fast and compatible with a wide range of web applications, including Breeze.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Known for its privacy features and customizability, Firefox is a solid choice for accessing Breeze. Ensure you’re on the most recent release for optimal functionality.

A Note on Browser Support:

  • Breeze does not support Internet Explorer, as it no longer receives updates and does not align with modern web standards.
  • We encourage you to regularly update your browser regardless of which one you choose. Browser updates often include security enhancements and new features that could impact your use of Breeze.

Keeping Your Browser Updated

Most browsers automatically update to the latest version. However, you can usually check manually by going to the 'About' section within the browser’s settings or help menu. More information can be found in Troubleshooting: Clearing Cookies, Cache, and Updating Your Browser.

Optimizing Your Computer for Breeze

While Breeze is highly adaptable and built to perform well on a range of systems, ensuring your web browser is current is the most important factor for a smooth Breeze experience.

Mac Users

Mac users should aim to use an up-to-date macOS that supports the latest browser versions. This will not only improve your experience with Breeze but also enhance your overall cybersecurity posture.

Windows Users

We recommend using the most recent version of Windows that supports the latest updates of your preferred web browser. While Breeze can function on older versions of Windows, newer versions will provide a more secure and stable platform for all web applications, including Breeze.

Operating System Updates:

Keep in mind that although Breeze's primary requirement is a current web browser, running an outdated operating system may prevent you from accessing the latest browser versions and features. It could also expose you to security vulnerabilities.

Mobile Device Compatibility for Breeze Apps

We support both Apple and Android apps, which are in the App Store and Google Play.

For the Breeze App:

iPhones & iPads: Requires iOS 13.0 or later.
Mac: Requires macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip or later.

For the Breeze Check-In App:

iPhones & iPads: Requires iOS 12.1 or later.
Mac: Requires macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip or later.

If you are using an older version than specified, you may need to update your device's operating system to download the latest version of the apps.

Updating Your Device:

To update your iPhone, or iPad, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update.
On a Mac, click the Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Software Update to check for updates.

Why Keep Updated? Keeping your device's software up to date is crucial, not only for compatibility with Breeze apps but also for the overall security and performance of your device. Newer software versions often include important security patches and enhancements that can improve your experience using apps like Breeze.

With Android, it gets a bit more complicated because there are more Android devices from various manufacturers. With this in mind, our general advice is that if you paid more than $300 for your Android device in the past four years, you'll probably have a good experience using Breeze on that device. You'll notice that this doesn't include the Amazon Fire tablets, and here is our reasoning: the Amazon Fire tablets generally don't have enough processing power to use Breeze. We realize there are always upgrades, and you might have a good experience with an Android device for around $300. However, the same computer purchase logic applies to our mobile device recommendations in that you generally get what you pay for.
