ACS - Export Instructions

We'd love to help your transition from ACS into Breeze go as smoothly as possible. If you get stuck along the way, have any questions, or would prefer to have us import your data (at no additional cost), don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Exporting Data from ACS

If using ACS OnDemand:
  1. Open ACS OnDemand (if you don't have ACS OnDemand installed, download it here).
  2. Log into OnDemand using your OnDemand Site Login.
  3. Log into the ACS product using your Product Login.
  4. Continue using the instructions below.

Exporting People

  1. Sign in to ACS.
  2. Run a Search.
  3. Click Advanced Export and select Create New Export.
  4. Select File Export then click Next.
  5. Title the export "Breeze People."
  6. Group tab: Check Include Deactivated Records (if needed to match up historical giving).
  7. Fields tab: Pick the fields you want exported. Be sure to select Individual ID, Family ID, and Envelope Number as well.
    • A good total export will have the Personal, Alternate Phones, Email Addresses, Comments, and Preferred Lists folders.
  8. Format tab:
    1. Select Microsoft Excel.
    2. Click Filename to choose a location to save the file.
    3. Click Save and Close.
  9. Click Run Export.

Exporting Extra Addresses

  1. Sign in to ACS.
  2. Navigate to Searches and Reports and select Reports.
  3. Select People from the drop-down list.
  4. Under People in the upper sidebar, expand Lists-->.
  5. Select Master Listing of Addresses.
  6. Within the Master List of Addresses Section:
    1. Select Use Report Setting for Search Results (default is Always Use Last Search Results).
    2. Click Customize from the Master Listing of Addresses.
    3. Under Report Options, uncheck Filter and select Address Types. There is a maximum of 5, so may have to run this report more than once to export out all the address data.
  7. Run the report.
  8. Click the Print button in the top left of the report.
    1. Print to file.
    2. Format as Excel.

Exporting Givings

  1. Sign in to ACS.
  2. Navigate to Searches and Reports and select Reports.
  3. Select Contributions (default is People) from the drop-down list.
  4. Under Contributions in the upper sidebar, expand Lists-->.
  5. Select Gift Detail Listing.
  6. Within the Gift Detail Listing section (in the lower sidebar):
    1. On the General tab, select your date range.
    2. On the Report Options tab, select your chosen funds (preferably all of them) and Include Deactivated People.
    3. Click Preview.
    4. Select Use Report Setting for Search Results (default is Always Use Last Search Results).
    5. Click Customize from the Gift Detail Listing section.
  7. Once the report is generated, there will be an icon on the top row called View Report Data. Click it.
  8. Expand the Export button and export to Comma Separated Values.
The last field in the contribution table will have the family id at the end of it. New versions of ACS will have a individual ID column

Importing Data into Breeze

  1. Sign in to your Breeze Account.
  2. Click the More tab in the top right.
  3. Click Tasks from the dropdown.
  4. Click the category on the left that you'd like to import (e.g. People, Giving, Tags, etc).
  5. Download and open the template file.
  6. Delete the sample data and populate the template file by copy/pasting applicable columns from your ACS exported file(s). Be sure to keep the first row of the template file intact.
  7. Save file as a .CSV file type.
  8. When finished, use the same screen to Upload your file to complete the import.
