We are excited to release a new People (Beta) page in Breeze that allows you to interact with Breeze profiles in a new way. This beta is packed with many features to explore, from updated search and filter options to a more streamlined experience for adding and archiving profiles.
Enabling People (Beta)
To enable the new People (Beta) page, click the “Enter Beta” button at the top of your People page. After selecting this option, you will see a confirmation message explaining the beta's purpose. If you’re comfortable with proceeding, click “Enter Beta” at the bottom right of the modal.
Design of People List
The People listing page has been updated with a modern design that helps streamline workflows and surface the most pertinent information.
Many users shared with us that they use this page to find contact information for a person in their database. To help you access that information easier, we’ve surfaced the most popular contact information (email and cell phone) to this main view.
Searching for People
Using the new search bar on the People page, you can quickly find someone in your Breeze account by searching for them using their name or contact information, like a cell phone number or email address.
The following video taken from Breeze University explores further the process of searching for individuals within People (Beta).
For access to more Breeze instructional videos, please visit the Breeze University page at www.breezechms.com/university.
Filtering People
We’ve added a new “Filters” option in People. We wanted filtering to feel seamless, so we made the experience of filtering people more integrated into the main workflows on this page.
As you build out your query, you will see the page updating with results immediately, along with the relevant information for individuals who match the filter!
To Set a Filter:
- Navigate to People (Beta)
- Click “Filters” near the top of the page
- Select the filters you’d like to set (you will see the page start to update immediately)
- Click “Done” at the bottom of the Filters panel
- See the profiles that match your filter and the information stored on the profiles for the used filter sets.
To Change a Set Filter:
There are three different ways to edit/remove filters after they have been set, and which one you use depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.
- To Remove All Filters
-
Click “Clear All” above the applied filter bubbles.
- To Remove One or More Filters
-
Click the “X” in the corresponding filter bubbles.
- To Remove and Add New Filters
-
Click the “Filters” button again and make the desired changes.
New Filter Features
Along with an updated design, we have added more filter options to help you better accomplish your reporting goals in Breeze!
Here are some of the main changes we have made to our filter options:
- Filter by Profile Photo (Has or Does Not Have)
- Filter by Family Photo (Has or Does Not Have)
- Added a baseline “Assigned” or “Unassigned” option to all profile fields
- Improved the “Phone” filter to allow separate filtering based on phone type (all phones, mobile, home, or work).
-
Surfaced advanced functionality on how results are displayed, allowing you to show filter results as Individuals, Parents, Children, or Families. (This functionality previously existed under Other > Search Type.)
Taking Action with People
The design of the Action Bar in People is one of the biggest design changes we made in this beta, moving away from the static panel on the right-hand side.
To Use an Action (Email, Text, Export, etc.)
- Get your list of people either by setting a filter or doing a search
- Select the checkbox next to the people with which you’d like to take action
- Select your desired action from the activated action bar
Archived People
Another prominent change with this beta is you can now better locate archived people within Breeze. Many users shared that managing archived individuals within Breeze was a cumbersome process. Because of the numerous tasks that need to take place around archived people, we’ve moved them to their dedicated space on the Archives page!
Filtering Archived People
You can filter archived People using the “Filters” button on the new Archives page. We wanted filtering to feel seamless, so we made the experience of filtering people more integrated into the main workflows on this page.

Taking Action with Archived People
The Action Bar in People (Beta) > Archives was designed to help safeguard churches from taking potentially unintentional or risky actions with archived profiles. Because of this, we’ve made it super simple to do the actions that matter most to our churches for archived individuals: Unarchive, Export, and Delete.
To Use an Action (Unarchive, Export, or Delete)
- Get your list of people either by setting a filter or doing a search
- Select the checkbox next to the people with which you’d like to take action
- Select your desired action from the activated action bar
Adding People to Breeze
When adding a new person to Breeze with the People (Beta), you’ll find that the Add Personal modal has a whole new look and feel!
You can customize what fields appear on the Add Person modal. To add or remove fields, click "Specify Display Fields" on the right side of the modal # 1 in the image below. (Note: When this option is collapsed, it will look like #2 in the image below.)
To add multiple family members simultaneously to Breeze, click “+ Family Member” and select if you want to add a new person or link an existing person. For each new person you want to add to the family, fill out their information and click the "Add x People" button at the bottom.
Use the Family section to assign family roles to each person you add. If you need to remove a person added to the family by mistake, click "X Remove."
You can easily assign new people to Tags or Follow Ups from the Add Person modal. Select the Tags or Follow Ups you would like to assign, and when you add the new person, any Follow Up selected will trigger, and the person will be assigned to the selected Tags.
If you make a multiple-choice selection, you can now easily "Clear Selection" if you selected a choice in error and need to leave the field blank.
