Add People (Beta)

This article will guide you through the process of adding individuals to your Breeze database using the People Beta interface. This method is ideal for adding a small number of people. If you need to add a large number of individuals, consider using the bulk import tool.

Accessing the People Section

  1. Click the People tab at the top of your Breeze screen. This will take you to the People section.
  2. You might notice an Exit Beta button. This is temporary and will disappear once the People Beta becomes the standard view. It won't affect the process of adding people.

Adding an Individual

  1. Click the Add Person button in the top right corner of the People section. This will open the Add Person window.

    Customizing Display Fields (Optional)

    Before adding your first person, you can customize the fields that appear in the Add Person window:

    1. Click the Specify Display Fields button in the top right corner of the Add Person window.
      (on the right side of the modal # 1 in the image below. When this option is collapsed, it will look like #2 in the image below.

    2. Select the fields you want to be displayed by default. This will save you time in the future.
    3. Click the Back button to return to the Add Person window.

     

  2. Entering Person Information

    1. Basic Information: Enter the person's first name, and optionally their nickname, middle name, and maiden name.
    2. Contact Information: Enter their phone numbers and email address.
      • You can mark contact information as private to hide it from directories.
      • You can also exclude mobile numbers from group texts and email addresses from group emails. This will prevent them from receiving mass communications, but they will still receive individual messages like volunteer requests and contribution statements.
    3. Other Information: Enter their address, upload a profile picture, add them to relevant tags (groups), and assign any necessary follow-ups.
  3. Adding Family Members

    1. Add Family Member Button: If you want to add a family member, click the + Family Member button at the top of the Add Person window.
    2. New or Existing: Choose whether to add a New Person or an Existing Person from your database.
    3. Enter Information: Fill in the family member's information in the new tab.
      • Household Role: Assign household roles (e.g., Head of Household, Spouse, Child).
      • Shared Information: Options to share contact information and address with the primary contact will be available.
      • Family Photo: You can also add a family photo.
    4. Click the "Add x People" button at the bottom.
      Note: If you need to remove a person added to the family by mistake, click "X Remove."

Assigning People to Tags or Follow Ups from the Add Person modal

You can easily assign new people to Tags or Follow Ups from the Add Person modal. Select the Tags or Follow Ups you would like to assign, and when you add the new person, any Follow Up selected will trigger, and the person will be assigned to the selected Tags.

If you make a multiple-choice selection, you can now easily "Clear Selection" if you selected a choice in error and need to leave the field blank.
