This article explores how to manage pledge campaigns in Breeze, specifically when integrated with Tithe.ly. Campaigns in Breeze help organize pledges by grouping them by purpose or timeframe. While pledges can have custom settings, default options can be set at the campaign level to streamline pledge creation. Integrating with Tithe.ly allows for seamless tracking of online donations towards these pledges
Setting Up a Pledge Campaign in Breeze
- Navigate to Giving > Pledges
- Click Add Campaign in the upper right
- Enter a Campaign Name
- Set the Default Start/End Date.
Crucially, these dates define the timeframe within which donations will be counted towards the pledge. For example, if you want to include donations made in December of the previous year for the upcoming pledge year, ensure your start date reflects that. Think of the pledge campaign as a "radar" scanning for gifts within these date filters. - Set the Default Fund. It is highly recommended to create a dedicated fund specifically for pledges (e.g., "Pledge 2025") in Fund Management. This fund should be marked as tax-deductible. This dedicated fund is critical for both Breeze and Tithe.ly integration.
- Click Add Campaign at the bottom right.
Setting Up Tithe.ly for Pledge Integration
Before connecting your funds, ensure your Tithely and Breeze accounts are integrated.
- Create Matching Fund in Tithe.ly: In Tithe.ly, create a fund with the exact same name as the pledge fund you created in Breeze (e.g., "Pledge 2025"). Ensure this fund is also marked as tax-deductible. The fund names must match for the integration to work correctly.
- Connect the corresponding funds: In Tithe.ly, navigate to Integrations and configure the Breeze integration. Link the "Pledge 2025" fund in Tithe.ly to the "Pledge 2025" fund in Breeze.
How it Works
Once the funds are connected, any donation made through Tithe.ly to the "Pledge 2025" fund will be automatically sent to Breeze. Breeze will then recognize these donations as contributions towards the designated pledge campaign, based on the date and fund criteria.
View Your Campaign
- Navigate to Giving > Pledges
- This list of campaigns can be sorted by clicking the column headers
(The default setting will sort by the most recently created campaign.)
Recording Donor Pledges
