Back in January 2025 we removed the double opt-in requirement to make texting simpler and faster for your church. If you haven’t started using this improved experience yet, now is a great time to take another look. As many ministries are being ramped back up and communication becomes even more important, Breeze texting is ready to help you stay connected.
These updates came after extensive work with our carrier partners and Engineering teams to ensure compliance while streamlining the process. We know how valuable your time is, and this change reflects our ongoing commitment to making ministry communication easier and more effective.
Key Updates to Texting
Here’s a quick reminder of the key updates to texting:
- No More Double Opt-In: A phone number is now automatically 'enrolled' as soon as it receives a text from your church. This eliminates the need for recipients to take an extra step to confirm their subscription.
- Simplified Consent: Just check a box confirming you have consent before sending a text to new recipients. This streamlines the process while ensuring you maintain proper consent.
- Clearer Status Tracking: Easily see who has received messages and who has opted out. This improved visibility helps you manage your communication more effectively.
- Automatic First-Time Message: New recipients will receive a quick opt-out option with their first text. This ensures full transparency and provides an easy way for individuals to manage their preferences.
- “Breeze” No Longer Shows: The word “Breeze” will no longer show at the start of every text sent. Your messages will appear more directly from your church.
- Updated Texting Modal: An updated texting modal is now present for all pages! This modal provides the ability to attach a file or photo, shorten a link, and send those important messages easily to your members from anywhere within Breeze.
