Step-by-Step Instructions

Searching for Previously Entered Giving Transactions

  1. Navigate to Giving > Reports.

  2. Select the date range of your choice.

  3. Select any additional criteria you'd like to search using the top options. Results matching your criteria will automatically appear below.

Getting a Report of Anonymous Gifts

  1. Navigate to Giving > Reports.

  2. Select your desired date range.

  3. Select the More dropdown menu and add "People" by clicking the checkbox next to it.

  4. "People" will now appear in your search filters at the top. Click it and check the Anonymous box.

  5. Set up any additional filters (e.g., fund, method). Your report of anonymous giving will automatically generate!

Getting a Report of Year-to-Date Giving

  1. Navigate to Giving > Reports.

  2. Set your Date criteria to the current year-to-date.

    • To see total amounts: Select the Amount dropdown and check the "Search by Sum" box. Click "Download as Excel" if you wish to export.

    • To see only names (no amounts): Click the person icon below the "Date" filter to view the list format. Click Export on the right to export the list to Excel.

Viewing Giving on an Individual's Profile

  1. Navigate to a specific person's profile.

  2. Click the Giving button on the left-hand menu.

    • Note: The columns that appear here match the default columns set on your main Reports page (Giving > Reports). You can change these defaults by adjusting the "Columns" filter on the main reports page.


Understanding Report Filters

When you navigate to Giving > Reports, you'll see default filters on the top bar. Next to that, you'll see a "More" dropdown containing several additional filters to create highly specific searches.

Default Filters

  • Dates: Your required date range. If you choose not to include an "end date," the search will look for the start date and everything after.

    • Graph Note: If viewing graphs, someone who did not give during your specified period appears as a "non-giver." The First Time Giver graph differs slightly; it looks at your selected date range and then checks back an additional five years to ensure they are a true new giver.

  • Fund: Specify which fund(s) you'd like to see (tax-deductible or non-tax-deductible). If no funds are selected, all funds will appear.

  • Method: Specify the type of giving method (e.g., online, cash, non-cash donations).

  • Amount: Set minimum/maximum amounts or search by Sum (which adds up all donations made by a person/family during the time period). This is ideal for finding Top Givers.

    • Top Giver Tip: Set a minimum amount, check "Search by sum", check "Group by family", and then click the "Amount" column header in the resulting table to sort highest-to-lowest!

"More" Filters (Checked to Activate)

  • People: Narrow results down to specific people, tags, or anonymous donors.

  • Envelopes: Search for people with or without assigned envelope numbers, or search by a specific range. (Note: This only appears if envelopes are assigned in your account).

  • Batch: Choose specific batches (e.g., just online giving batches or manually added batches by week).

  • Form: See who paid registrations/payments through specific forms.

  • Pledged To: See who has given toward a specific pledge, or identify "non-givers" who have pledged but have not yet given (showing a $0 amount).

  • Transfers: See a list of transfer dates and the gross total contributions included within them.

  • Columns: Check or uncheck boxes to specify exactly which information fields you want visible on your final report grid.
