Primary Contact Change to Account Owner

The move from Primary Contact to Account Owner is live as of May 1, 2024.
At Breeze, we continually strive to enhance our platform to provide a seamless and efficient experience for all users. As part of our efforts to streamline account management and permission settings, we're introducing an important update to our user roles.

Why Are We Making This Change?

Historically, every Breeze account has been managed by a designated "Primary Contact," a role that could come with varied permission levels, including restricted access in certain areas. To simplify our permissions system and improve overall platform usability, we're evolving the Primary Contact role into what will now be known as the "Account Owner."

What's Changing?

  • The "Primary Contact" will be renamed to "Account Owner."
  • Account Owners will be granted unrestricted access to all Breeze features and data. This transition means that all existing Primary Contacts will be automatically upgraded to have unrestricted access within Breeze. Previously, the "Primary Contact" role could be edited for various permissions. Under the "Account Owner" role - this user will automatically be provided full access to all Breeze features.

Here is a helpful chart to compare the differences between Primary Contacts and Account Owners:

Primary Contact (Current) Account Owner (Future)

Contact person for account alerts, billing issues, and important updates

Acts on behalf of and represents your organization

Unrestricted access to all Breeze data

Only this user may cancel your Breeze subscription

Only this user may transfer their status to another

Confirming Your Account Owner

The current Primary Contact for your organization is set to automatically transition to the Account Owner role. If this individual is the appropriate choice for the Account Owner role, no action is needed on your part. We recommend reviewing your organization's operational requirements to ensure this transition aligns with your needs.

Designating a New Account Owner

If a different individual should become the Account Owner, here's how you can prepare:

Change the Primary Contact: To designate a new Account Owner, you'll need to update your Breeze account’s Primary Contact.

  1. Log into Breeze.
  2. Navigate to "Users & Roles."
  3. Follow the prompts to update the Primary Contact.

Lost Access to the Current Primary Contact Account?

  1. Visiting your church’s Breeze login page.
  2. Clicking “Forgot Password” directly under the “Sign In” button.
  3. Following the instructions to reset your password.
This action enables you to update the Primary Contact information if you are the current Primary Contact.

What If the Primary Contact Is No Longer with My Organization?

In cases where the current Primary Contact has left the organization or cannot log in to make necessary changes, follow these steps to ensure your account remains up-to-date:

  1. Prepare a Request on Official Letterhead: Draft a request detailing the need to change the Primary Contact. This request must be written on your organization's official letterhead to verify its authenticity.
  2. Obtain the Chief Executive’s Signature: The request must be signed by the Chief Executive or an equivalent authority within your organization to demonstrate its approval and legitimacy.
  3. Contact Breeze Support: Submit your signed request to Breeze support. Ensure you include any relevant details that could assist in processing your request quickly.
