Name Tags Won't Print
If you're encountering issues with Breeze not printing name tags, there are a few basic troubleshooting steps to walk through to establish that connection.
-
Staring with the basics, lets make sure that you are using a Breeze-supported Dymo printer:
- DYMO Label 450 (Wired)
- DYMO Label 450 Turbo (Wired)
- DYMO Label Wireless (Wireless)
- DYMO Label 550 (Wired)
-
Check and make sure that the event is set up correctly to print labels.
- This can be done by Clicking on the Event you are trying to print name tags from, and selecting Event Settings.
- Under "Check In" within the Event Settings make sure that the checkbox that says "Print name tag at check in" is selected.
- Use the Printer Connection Tester to see if Breeze can diagnose the issue for you (Go to Events > On the calendar click the event settings () > Test Label Printer. When running the Breeze Test Label Printer you should see any errors if there is a problem, helping you diagnose what is happening, if everything is set up properly you will see:
- Ensure that you are using the correct DYMO Label Software for your printer setup.
- If you're only using a DYMO 450, 450 Turbo or DYMO Wireless, you should download version 8.7.4 for Windows; 8.7.5 for Mac.
- If you're using DYMO 550, or have a mix of 450 and 550 printers, you will need to download DYMO Connect.
- Ensure that you are able to print directly from the DYMO Software. (If you are unable to print from the software, you will need to contact DYMO Support to get this connection established. You can contact them here.)
Note : DYMO's best practice for uninstalling and re-installing the software would be to start by unplugging your DYMO printer first. Then continue by uninstalling the software, reinstalling and then following DYMO's prompts to turn on your printer when asked. This will ensure that all files from the older download will be removed properly. See steps 6 and 7 below.
-
Go to your event and attempt to check someone in. Check to see if the print request is making it to your printer queue. If it is but it's not printing, try disconnecting the printer's power and USB connection for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. This will restart the printer.
-
Try uninstalling everything related to DYMO (DYMO Software and DYMO Web Service if you're using it), restarting your computer (an important step to complete the uninstall), and then reinstalling the DYMO Label Software.

Name Tags Printing Slowly
If your name tags are printing, however they're moving much slower than you would prefer, there are a few things to investigate and try!
For some churches, their wireless networks receive a lot of traffic on Sunday mornings from everyone's smartphone connecting (or attempting to connect) to their network. To help determine if this is the cause, try checking someone in during a time when very few people are in the building.
-
If in this test the name tag prints out quickly, it may be worth limiting public access to the wireless network. One of the following techniques may work well to resolve this:
- Password-protecting the church wireless internet
- Changing the access point to not broadcast the access point's name so devices can't even attempt to connect to it
- Creating multiple networks (subnets) which partition bandwidth and throttle usage by device (more advanced)
If printing is slow during a time when few people are in the building, this points to the issue being between the computer and the printer itself. This can be due to:
- An older computer being used
- A lower-end (i.e. slower) computer being used
- A computer that's also running many other tasks in the background
- A bad install of the DYMO Software
To resolve this:
- Try hooking the printer up to a newer device to see how it compares.
- Or try uninstalling and reinstalling the Dymo Software (see step 1 above).
